Campfire Rose
Zone 3b - Canada. Dyck, 2012 - 1m / 3ft
Parentage: My Hero × Frontenac
This rose was introduced by Agriculture Canada as part of the Canadian Artist Series. Its yellow and red coloration was said to resemble the tones of a campfire in a painting by Tom Thomson, a famous painter of Canadian landscapes. The blooms begin as semi-double yellow with reddish edges, then age to a deep rose-pink. Campfire doesn’t sucker, allowing the bush to be placed in beds without fear of it taking over. The rich green stems are lightly prickled. It is extremely crown hardy.
