This rose was introduced by Agriculture Canada as one of the Canadian Artist Series. Its yellow and red coloration was said to resemble the tones of a campfire in a painting by Tom Thomson, a famous painter of Canadian landscapes. This rose begins as a semi double yellow with reddish edges, then ages to a deep rose-pink. This rose doesn’t sucker, and this allows the bush to be put into beds without fear of it taking over. The rich green stems are lightly prickled. It is extremely crown hardy.
