Fire Light Hydrangea
Zone 3b - 2m / 6.5ft
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Fire Light’
Fire Light boasts huge flower heads from mid summer until fall. Flowers begin creamy white and as they age change to a dark, vivid raspberry pink, near red. This hydrangea requires little maintenance and pruning. Excellent choice for hedging or as a stand alone specimen, or in any garden bed. The flowers make for excellent cut flowers, both fresh and dried. They can also be left on the plant and will persist well into winter for some extra interest in your landscape. Ideal growth occurs in sun to partial shade in moist well drained soil. Shade recommended in climates where afternoons are particularly hot.
Best practices for pruning are late winter or early spring. Blooms occur on the current season’s growth.
