Early season
Duchess of Oldenburg, often referred to as Duchess, is an early apple, ripening in late July in New Brunswick. It has a short shelf life but when picked at its peak, provides a juicy snack. Primarily used for cooking, it has a slightly tart white-yellow flesh, making it ideal for pies and sauces. The tree is hardy and will survive temperatures of up to -40°C / -40°F. Crops are biennial.
