Spike gayfeather. Liatris spicata.

An architectural plant with its rigid erect stems. These become covered in flowers that open all along the upper section of the stem. Excellent middle of the bed plant that grows 1.5m tall. Also can created a spectacular feature growing through lower plants. Prefers full sun and moist well drained soil.
