This is a triploid apple, requiring the pollination from two other diploid cultivars. We have found it to be completely hardy in our zone 4 orchard. It may be adaptable to warmer sections of zone 3. The fruit is medium to large, and conical in form with a somewhat waxy yellow to green skin, occasionally blushed with orange-red. It is considered medium bittersweet, with hard and bitter tannins, and notes of mango and pineapple. Excellent as a blending apple, as it is deficient in sharpness. Susceptible to scab.
