Macoun has a dense, crisp, pure white flesh and a deep red skin with purple tones. It is famous as a connoisseur cultivar. A great apple for snacking due to its smaller size. Macoun does not keep well through winter so is best enjoyed (and really only available) in October and November. It is susceptible to apple scab.
