Enterprise Apple
Zone 4 - Indiana. 1993 - Standard rootstock
Dessert
Late season
Enterprise is a high quality dessert apple. The fruit is round and medium-large in size. Every indication is that it should be hardy in Zone 4, and possibly Zone 3, however colder areas may not be able to bring it to optimal quality, as the ripening occurs quite late. The flesh is pale yellow, firm, crisp, and has rich spicy overtones. Acidity is high but mellows in storage. It is rated as an excellent-quality fruit that stays firm and crisp even after six months in storage. The skin has a green background but by maturity is nearly solid dark red. It is immune to scab, and very resistant to cedar apple rust and fireblight, as well as moderately resistant to powdery mildew.
