An apple that surely needs no introduction. Popular for the last century in areas like New England, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada, McIntosh has had a huge influence on apple growing in northern climates. It has bright white, juicy flesh that is melting, crisp when freshly picked, and a flavour that is a bit more sweet, than tart. The skin is a bright red, and considered a bit tender. The apple can be stored until mid winter if carefully handled. It is very susceptible to apple scab. This material comes from a tree grafted from the original tree, thus 1st generation.
