Metasequoia glyptostroboides

Ancient tree, discovered by Europeans in a small area of Hupeh Province in China in 1941. Now planted around the temperate world. Has a pyramidal habit with a very dominant vertical trunk. This is a deciduous conifer that loses it’s feathery needles in the fall. Prefers a sunny location. Has proven hardy in Zone 4.
