Daylilies are some of the easiest and most rewarding perennials to grow. They are tolerant of most soils but will flower best in full sun and prefer a moist loam soil. Although each bloom only lasts a day, the blossoms keep coming for a month or more. Buds and flowers are edible and quite sweet. We pick buds 3 days before opening, sauté for a few minutes in butter and serve.
