Dessert, cooking, cider
Late season

Parentage: Unknown
A very old russeted apple that has unfortunately become rare. The origin story is admittedly undecided, as some say it was a seedling found in Quebec, while others say it arrived on a ship from France. The flesh is crisp with a fine texture, juicy and aromatic, with its flavour being described as rich, sweet, and nutty. Hints of cider, citrus, pear, and vanilla can be noticed as well. The fruit itself is small to medium in size, and is somewhat flattened in shape. Its skin is yellow-green and transforms into a suede like covering of russet, sometimes with a faint rosy blush. Pomme Grise is an annual producer, and is considered a good choice for cider.

Potted apple trees are available at the nursery. Please inquire for availability.
