Freedom is oblate with a yellow background becoming striped in red, and blushing in full sun. The flesh is cream white and medium-fine in texture, juicy, and sprightly subacid. Freedom is a very useful multipurpose apple, being a fine dessert apple, and excellent in baking and juices. It begins fruiting at a young age. Extremely resistant to disease. An excellent choice for organic production.
