Clematis

These selections are hardy in Zone 4 and Blue Bird should do well into Zone 3. Blue Bird and Auereolin do not need to be cut back each spring and will bloom on old and new wood, giving an extravagant display of blossoms. If the vine gets overwhelming you can cut them back hard in spring and they will bounce back. The Virgin’s Bower will die back to the ground each year and come back in spring. It is very hardy.
