Kay Gray is a very hardy white wine grape variety developed by Elmer Swenson in Wisconsin. It produces small, tight clusters of fruit, known for its resistance to disease. Harvested just before full maturity, Kay Gray yields the best results when minimal racking is used to avoid oxidation. This grape is ideal for northern climates, thriving in well-drained soil with a pH of 6–7, and is suited for creating crisp, fresh white wines.
